The blog that dares not update

Upcoming playlists:
10/23: Califone, Yeti, Quitters, Uncut
10/30: Tortoise, Joanna Newsom
11/6, Robyn Hitchcock, Shout Out Out Out Out, Under Byen
11/13: Lullabye Arkestra, Noel Ellis
11/20: The Harry Smith Project?
11/27: Tom Waits?
12/18: Neko, Xmas

Still dithering on those last few and the December ones, but its hard to believe the end of the year is here already. A great year for music, as usual. In the meantime, get thee over to the GaragePop site for info on the new Quitters CD and Saturday night's CD release party. Their new CD is jaw-droppingly good, and I'm not just saying that because they are local and I know Rob.

the playlists for October yet again

The Bettie Serveert phone interview went off with a hitch, no typo, as I had trouble wrestling with the mechanics of our legendary board. Once everything settled down though, we had a lovely talk with Ms. Carol VanDyck of said band, who called from a van that just happened to be in Rochester (Henrietta, in fact). Why can't we get bands to stop here, I ask you? Anyway, the new CD, Bare Stripped Naked, is destined to be an underrrated gem from this year, so check it out.

Once again, an attempt at organizing a playlist or three:
10/9: Viva Voce, Grizzly Bear, Tanya Donnelly
10/16: Hidden Cameras, Sadies, Noel Ellis
10/23: Califone, Tortoise, Quitters

And in the too-good-to-be-true dept, a DVD of Neko at Austin City Limits comes out Tuesday, to what seems like relatively low fanfare. I'll be checking all the same.
